Search Engine Optimization: Organic vs. Non-Organic

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines. The term Organic SEO refers to creating that traffic with "natural" or un-paid methods and techniques. Non-Organic, also known as search engine marketing, refers to payments made to search engines for inclusion in searches for specific keywords.

So which is better? Organic or Non-Organic? The truth is both Organic and Non-Organic are extremely helpful however, having Organic SEO only on your site is more beneficial than having only Non-Organic because Non-Organic still relies heavily on Organic SEO when delivering search results. That's not saying that if a company is willing to spend substantial amounts of advertising expenses on Non-Organic SEO without Organic that the site won't show up because it will. When dealing with Non-Organic SEO you get what you pay for.

The Verdict: If you must choose between Organic and Non-Organic SEO we recommend Organic SEO with one main reason being that Organic SEO is more effective and works on all search engines whereas Non-Organic you pay each search engine individually. However, the correct combination of Organic and Non-Organic SEO can generate traffic to your site without having to pay each search engine an arm and a leg.
